As a GNSS Software Engineer for Navigation you are developing the core software for u-blox’s next generation of navigation devices. As a member of the u-blox navigation team you contribute to solving today’s most demanding positioning challenges. 

In this position, you will join a small team of enthusiastic engineers distributed across Europe who bring together expertise and knowledge from many disciplines to deliver reliable GNSS software for the next generation of u-blox’s innovative and competitive navigation systems. 

This role can be located in Thalwil / Switzerland or Tampere / Finland. 
 
What are your Tasks? 

  • Specification, implementation and maintenance of navigation features within the u-blox GNSS receiver firmware 

  • Performance analysis, optimisation and tuning of existing algorithms 

  • Contributing to the research of novel approaches in GNSS positioning 

  • Analysis of defects 

What are we looking for? 

  • MS or PhD in geodesy, aerospace engineering or a relevant scientific or engineering discipline 

  • Excellent software development skills with an ambition to write clean and efficient code 

  • Experience with software development processes (version control, CI, etc.) 

  • Knowledge of GNSS navigation and related technologies 

  • Good communication skills in English 

Bonus Points 

  • A solid understanding of estimation theory and error modeling 

  • Embedded software development experience in C/C++
