Development Manager, Portfolio and Project Management

We are looking for a Development Manager in to CDO office team to act as a strategic consultant to design and deploy modern portfolio and project management practices for the Aalto community, encompassing researchers, teachers and all its members.

The CDO Office is responsible for promoting and steering digital transformation and strategic ICT governance in Aalto University. The function has primary responsibility for digitalization strategy, IT governance models, portfolio and project management, enterprise architecture, data management and analytics development, strategic IT procurement, risk management, cybersecurity, and business continuity, as well as external ecosystem partners.

In Aalto we are actively developing industry breakthrough technologies, processes and ways of working for Aalto community and partner ecosystems. We collaborate in this with other Universities in Finland and Europe and aim to be a flagship University in the Digitalization. As we navigate this rapidly evolving field, our commitment is to be a proactive and to ensure that we stay at the forefront of progress.

Your role

As a Development Manager, you will be the key player in further developing Aalto services. We are looking for a person to take ownership of portfolio and program/project management principles and methodologies including the selected key processes.

You will work in collaboration with our internal stakeholders, ecosystem partners and other leading Universities. Your extended stakeholder group may include researchers engaged in diverse projects, teachers enhancing our educational offerings and leading experts in digitalization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Portfolio management, insight, analytics and reporting to relevant management boards
  • Processes and roles development mirrored with industry best practices such as SaFe, Prince2, CoBIT, ITIL, Business Technology Standard etc.
  • Program and project governance models development
  • Metrics, reporting and KPIs development
  • Competence development
  • Business Excellence by facilitating smart development investment decisions with fact based data
