Description

We are now looking for a Board Assembly Engineer to our team in Oulu, Finland. As a Board Assembly Engineer in the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Engineering team at Nokia, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative and high-quality products. You will work closely with the Product Development programs, contributing to the development of cutting-edge wireless mobility networks. Your work will also involve improving the quality, efficiency, and production methods in the Surface Mount Device (SMD) area. 


Being part of the SMT engineering team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including engineers and designers. You will have the opportunity to lead engineering projects and provide expertise in your competence areas. Your responsibilities

•    Collaborate with Product Development programs to create innovative and high-quality products and influence product development and design for manufacturing issues
•    Evaluate, implement, and improve Board Assembly solutions and processes while acting as a gatekeeper and enabler of new production methods
•    Plan and adjust line layout/capacity to meet production requirements
•    Lead engineering projects in own competence areas
•    Provide production method expertise for continuous improvement of efficiency and quality
 

Your skills and experience

Must-have:   
•    B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in engineering
•    Experience in SMT production and machinery
•    Understanding of Design for Excellence (DfX)
•    Knowledge of Production tools (Enovia, Creo, Valor)
•    Positive, self-driven, problem-solving attitude with effective team teamwork and interpersonal skills
•    Fluent written and spoken English and Finnish


Nice-to-have:
• General PCB repairing knowledge
• Understanding of both general product development and industrialization processes
• Solid understanding of the production environment and processes
