Description

At Owatec, part of Sulzer, we develop innovative and sustainable wastewater treatment solutions for industrial and municipal customers worldwide. We are now looking for a Lead Engineer to strengthen our growing team in Oulu.

In this role, you will have a key position in developing our products and delivering successful customer projects. You will combine process engineering expertise with team leadership, contributing to solutions that improve resource efficiency and environmental performance.

The salary for this position is between EUR 4,300 and EUR 5,200 per month. The final salary will be determined based on the selected candidates qualifications, experience, and overall suitability for the role.

As a Lead Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and support the process engineering and procurement team
  • Drive product development and project engineering activities
  • Act as a process engineering expert within the international Sulzer Water Treatment Solutions network
  • Support mechanical, electrical and automation engineering throughout projects
  • Ensure product safety, compliance and technical documentation
  • Participate in and oversee CAD design activities (Vertex or similar tools)
  • Contribute to customer-specific wastewater treatment solutions
  • Manage smaller engineering projects when required
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, customers and project teams

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Degree in Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.), preferably in Process, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles and industrial projects
  • Experience in product development and project delivery environments
  • Knowledge of CAD design tools, preferably Vertex or equivalent
  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in wastewater treatment technologies is considered a strong advantage.
