You have now chance to join Valmet Packaging and Paper Services to develop performance parts and field services that directly enhance our customers’ process reliability and sustainability. We provide spare- and process parts and services to our paper, board and packaging customers around the world. Our purpose is to promote customer lifecycle success by improving efficiency, quality, and productivity.

We are looking for a practical and self-directed person who can lead Research and technology development (RTD) initiatives and drive innovation together with our technology experts from idea generation to the launch of a new product or service. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing RTD projects with wide spectrum of technologies. In this role you have possibility to expand your expertise and learn every day.

The position can be based in Tampere, Jyväskylä or Vantaa.

Our expectations for you

You have experience from R&D and strong project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills. You take initiative and are willing to build up your contact network in international context and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders. Earlier experience in similar tasks will help in getting started but most importantly we are looking for a pragmatic person who can find solutions and has relentless drive to move forward with the projects.

To succeed in this position, you should have:

  • B.Sc. or preferably M.Sc. degree in Engineering e.g. Mechanical engineering, manufacturing, process, materials, or production technologies
  • Experience in research or technology or product development related project management
  • Earlier experience from some of the following: functional coatings, additive manufacturing, engineering, digital services, laboratory analysis, supplier management, sustainability development, manufacturing development.
  • Customer and business focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently in global organization and to achieve results
  • Willing to work hands-on on all potential tasks included in RTD, throughout the RTD project
  • Fluent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Finnish language skill also preferred
  • Excellent IT Skills and some experience of working with data
  • Possibility to travel occasionally
