Marketing Manager

Posted on 28 Nov 2025

Description

We are Helsinki Shipyard – celebrating 160 years of shipbuilding excellence. Since 1865, we have been designing, building, and commissioning tailor-made, high-class passenger vessels and icebreakers for extreme conditions. We proudly continue the legacy of Helsinki’s own Shipyard, right in the heart of Helsinki.

With us, you get to design and build the ships under one roof from start to finish, in close collaboration with our customers. Our specialty lies in vessels that operate on the polar seas, but we can build everything from smaller yachts to complex multi-purpose icebreakers. To provide you with some perspective, we've built 50% of the world's icebreakers - without us it would be hard to navigate in the icy seas!

We are now building a new heavy icebreaker for the Canadian government. The vessel will be constructed in Helsinki before being completed at Davie's shipyard in Quebec by 2030. Read more about the project here!

Since November 2023, Helsinki Shipyard has been a part of Group Davie together with SATA Shipbuilding in Pori and Chantier Davie in Levie, Quebec.

We are now looking for a Marketing Manager to strengthen our organization and play a central role in bringing our marketing to the next decade.

Your Role

As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and executing all marketing activities for Helsinki Shipyard and SATA Shipbuilding. You will work closely with the Sales Organization and collaborate with Communications to ensure a coherent and modern brand presence.

In this role, you will manage our marketing roadmap, ensure alignment with Davie Finland’s strategy, and develop brand assets that support sales, customer engagement, and capture management.

You will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the annual marketing plan and budget.

  • Strengthen the Helsinki Shipyard and SATA Shipbuilding brands and ensure consistent brand management.

  • Lead the creation of high-quality marketing materials, including presentations, brochures, visuals, and digital content.

  • Work with the sales team to support capture management — shaping complex vessel concepts and turning them into compelling, visually strong stories.

  • Portray our vessels in an appealing way: create narratives, visual concepts, and materials that position us as the partner of choice in international shipbuilding projects.

  • Produce or coordinate graphic design, layouts, and visual assets.

  • Collaborate closely with the Communications team to ensure coherence in brand and messaging.

  • Manage commercial exhibitions, events, and trade fairs.

  • Engage with key stakeholders including classification societies, technical consultants, and project partners.

  • Help modernize and digitalize our marketing — bringing it fully into this decade.

This is a hands-on, strategic yet creative role where you will have the freedom and responsibility to modernize our marketing and make a significant impact across our commercial activities.

Who You Will Work With

You will join the Sales Organization alongside Key Account/Business Development Managers, Project Managers, Cost estimation team and Naval Architecture team. Collectively, we’re +400 professionals specializing in shipbuilding.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in Marketing, Graphic Design, Brand Management, or similar roles. A relevant degree in marketing, business, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing a marketing plan aligned with company strategy.

  • Experience from B2B marketing — preferably in industrial, engineering, or maritime sectors (maritime is a plus).

  • Experience with commercial exhibitions or trade fairs is considered an asset.

Skills

  • Strong graphic design skills and confidence in modern design tools.

  • Ability to create compelling content and visual materials.

  • Strong understanding of brand management.

  • Familiarity with budgeting and managing marketing projects.

  • Basic understanding of capture management or willingness to learn.

  • Good understanding of video and photo production/editing is beneficial.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; Finnish is an advantage.

Personal Qualities

  • Outgoing, confident, and comfortable representing the company at events.

  • Able to lead projects independently and make decisions.

  • Strategic yet hands-on — you’re not afraid to create materials yourself.

  • Creative, curious, and motivated to modernize and renew our marketing.

  • Collaborative and able to work closely with both technical and commercial experts.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (but not excessively).

We also welcome a portfolio demonstrating your marketing, content, and visual work.

Why Join Helsinki Shipyard?

  • We are part of Group Davie, giving us a solid foundation for sustainable growth in key markets.

  • We manage the entire shipbuilding process from conceptual design to delivery — offering a unique, end-to-end view of world-class vessel building.

  • We operate in an international environment with a wide global network of partners and customers.

  • Environmental responsibility is a core value — for example, we participate in joint Helsinki sea monitoring to ensure water quality in our surrounding environment.

  • You will have the opportunity to renew and modernize our entire marketing approach — making a real impact on how we are seen globally.
