We are looking for a Vice President, Legal, Automation Solutions and Flow Control. In this position, you will report to the EVP, Legal, General Counsel, and be a member of the Automation Solutions and Flow Control Leadership Teams as well as Legal Leadership Team. The position is located in Tikkurila, Vantaa, Finland.
This role includes a wide range of different responsibilities, for example:
Ensuring compliance with relevant local and regional laws and regulations
Ensuring adherence with Company and BA specific policies and guidelines
Mitigating legal risks within the BA through proactive risk management strategies and legal advice
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements to protect BA’s interests, act as sparring partner to BA’s across all legal matters specific to BA
Managing legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, in coordination with external counsel as needed
Advising respective BA Leadership Teams on a variety of legal issues
Providing training and guidance to BA employees on legal and compliance matters
Maintaining proper corporate interactions with relevant stakeholder groups, incl. governmental bodies and legislatures
Conducting research and staying updated on legal trends and developments relevant to the BA’s operations
Drafting and negotiating agent and distribution agreements
Recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A Master’s Degree in Law
At least 8 years of work experience in a global company or law firm working in a business-to-business environment; work experience in pulp and paper or oil and gas industry is an asset
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance, with familiarity in industry-specific regulations for highly engineered products
Demonstrate strong presence as business partner towards the management and not be afraid to voice opinions and make recommendations for the business
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, and team working mindset
Proven track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts and agreements, managing legal disputes, and leading high-performing legal team
Fluent written and spoken English skills
Good cross organization cooperation and communication
Capability to work in a high stress environment
Demonstrable and sustained excellent performance and leadership
Readiness and ability to travel
