Manager, Investment Optimization

As Manager of Investment Optimization, you’ll contribute to Nokia Technologies’ investment strategy, planning and optimization as part of Product Management team within the Strategy & Product Management function in Nokia Technologies. This role requires hands-on experience in applying advanced quantitative methods in investment scenario modelling, fluency with financial data, and experience from portfolio strategy development. Previous experience in using patent data for scenario modelling is preferred.

Your responsibilities

Patent portfolio strategy and investment planning

  • Analyzing patent portfolio value drivers and developing frameworks for portfolio valuation
  • Identifying and analyzing portfolio development and investment opportunities
  • Driving end-to-end investment case modeling and opportunity evaluation
  • Developing high-quality decision materials and executive level presentations for key stakeholders 

Patent portfolio optimization

  • Driving analytical end-to-end portfolio investment optimization
  • Building fit-for-purpose analytical models to evaluate strategic options and scenarios
  • Developing optimization models to guide portfolio strategy and investment decisions
  • Developing advanced prescriptive analytical models to inform critical business decisions
  • Collaborating across Nokia Technologies to optimize portfolio investments

Your skills and experience

  • Strong academic record with a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. economics, engineering, data science, operations research, finance or equivalent quantitative skillset)
  • Business acumen and capabilities in applying quantitative methods (e.g. statistics, machine learning, econometrics, simulation, optimization, etc.) to solve complex business problems
  • Proven experience of data science tools (e.g. Python and the Azure Databricks environment)
  • Experience in working with large data sets and building quantitative analyses and models
  • Experience in P&L modeling, profitability and cash flow analysis 
  • Proven track-record of delivering excellent results in demanding project environments 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to operate effectively at different levels of abstraction 
  • Able to handle complex concepts and translate analyses into actionable recommendations 
  • Team player with ability and drive to independently produce quality deliverables on tight deadlines 
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
