Senior Quality Platform Engineer

About the role

We’re moving beyond traditional testing. Quality at our organization is not a gate; it’s a platform. As a Senior Quality Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the internal tooling, automation, workflows, and quality infrastructure that empower teams to ship faster, safer, and with higher confidence. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, and quality strategy.

What you’ll be doing

• Develop and maintain the Quality Platform: frameworks, libraries, pipelines, and integrations
• Build reusable, language-agnostic automation libraries and internal SDKs
• Own CI/CD quality gates, test orchestration, and smart execution logic
• Implement and maintain recording/playback tools, contract testing, and visual regression engines
• Improve feedback loops in local dev, PRs, staging, and production
• Create self-service tooling for engineers to generate tests and diagnose failures
• Build systems that convert quality noise into actionable insights
• Define and codify standards that scale across teams
• Create “golden paths” for developers including out-of-the-box test setup and generated mocks

What you’ll need to be successful

• Strong alignment with our values and proficiency in English at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5
• Strong experience in modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, JUnit, etc.)
• Solid software engineering background (TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Python or similar)
• Familiarity with Ruby and experience building internal tooling or engineering platforms
• Deep understanding of CI/CD (Buildkite, GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI)
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns and quality telemetry/observability
• Experience with Performance, Load testing and tooling
• Shift-left and shift-right testing practices mindset

Bonus points

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or test generation frameworks
• Knowledge of VCR/web mocking proxies, contract testing, and API schema validation
• Exposure to static analysis tools and code quality scanners
• Experience with platform engineering in any form (DevEx, SRE, Internal Platforms)
