Summer Trainee in SW R&D, Oulu

Description

You will be developing SW together with your team. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Learn and actively contribute to the design, development, and testing of high‑performance software as part of an experienced scrum team
  • Assist in identifying, diagnosing, troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues and fault conditions under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and reliability. Typical languages and environments may include C/C++, Python, and GPU/CUDA
  • Support test automation (unit, integration, performance) and help maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Document designs, changes, and test results to ensure traceability and effective knowledge sharing within the team
  • Take initiative to explore new tools, technologies, and best practices, and apply your learnings to assigned tasks
  • Collaborate across functions (e.g., QA, DevOps, and hardware/embedded teams) to deliver features end‑to‑end

Your skills and experience

  • You are a student in a university, polytechnic or an equivalent institution

  • You are fluent in English (written & spoken)

 

You also have at least some of the following skills:

  • A solid understanding of the basics of software development

  • Python, C/C++, Matlab, UML or Java/J2EE programming or system testing  

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery 

  • Open source SW, Linux, GIT, multi-core processors

  • Reactive programming or Graphical User Interface (GUI) are a plus 

  • You possibly have studied 4G/5G, big data, automated testing (TDD, ATDD, Robot), signal processing, virtualization, cloudification, databases or security 

  • ML/AI tools

  • CUDA programming and understanding of GPU architecture
