About your role
Phase1 is Orion’s paid trainee programme designed for university students, bringing together a large and diverse group of talents from various fields every year. In addition to interesting summer jobs with meaningful projects, the programme offers a variety of events, networking opportunities with other Phase1 Trainees and Orion employees, as well as small group mentoring to support your career! You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the technical documentation for process equipment at the Oulu plant. You will take part in the design and commissioning of new facilities and equipment. You will also be responsible for preparing qualification materials. In addition, you will support project managers during various stages of investment projects and assist in the preparation of various technical projects and help resolve technical issues. During the maintenance shutdown, your work will include a range of tasks such as installation supervision and commissioning.
You’ll be part of a team of engineering professionals based at Fermion’s plants in Hanko and Oulu. Our team is responsible for planning, sourcing, construction, and commissioning of production-related factory investments. We are working closely with production staff and other external stakeholders.
The position is based in Oulu On-site. The role is planned to start in May and will last for approximately four months.

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description.
Fermion Oy is a subsidiary of Orion and develops and produces all active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for Orion's in-house developed innovative medicines and for some of Orion's branded, generic and animal health products. Fermion also develops and produces a series of generic APIs for various indications and is active as CDMO, contract development and manufacturing organization, to serve other pharmaceutical companies. The company has produced APIs in Hanko, Finland since 1973, and the plant currently has personnel of 180. The company's Oulu plant commenced operations back in 1964 and currently employs more than 100 professionals. Fermion’s head office is in Espoo where R&D, S&M and part of QM personnel are located. Altogether approximately 400 professionals work for Fermion.
