About your role
Phase1 is Orion’s paid trainee programme designed for university students, bringing together a large and diverse group of talents from various fields every year. We are looking for one to three enthusiastic Phase1 trainees for the automation department of Orion's pharmaceutical factories. The traineeship is planned to start in May and last for 3–4 months. The automation team has its hands full with interesting projects and production support. We are therefore looking for people to help our top professionals during the summer. Our Phase1 trainee program offers (3-4 months’) full time summer job, the work is performed mainly on-site.
Your key responsibilities
Your role may be more focused on machines and equipment or on the factory systems we maintain and can contain, for example:
Documenting the operation of automation device PLC programs and designing & commissioning minor program modifications.
Creating and updating technical documentation related to ongoing projects
Coordinating the work of internal and external parties during the summer shutdown
Troubleshooting automation related issues in production
Tasks related to preparing or updating user requirement specification, operating instructions and change management processes

Our expectations
The candidates we are looking for can be university students in automation, IT, or another relevant field, either at the beginning of their studies or close to graduation. We hope that applicants have a strong interest in automation technology, which can be demonstrated in the application, for example, through hobbies related to the field or previous work experience. People who succeed in this role are those with an independent and bold approach to work and a positive attitude toward new challenges.
In addition, our team main language is Finnish and good documentation and communication skills in Finnish are required. Strong written English skills, and proficiency with Office software are also needed. We also value experience in project work, skills in electrical drawing (Cadmatic) and last but not least, experience and training related to electrical work is more than welcome!

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description
Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.
In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.
Orion’s automation is a team of about 30 people, both engineers and technicians, responsible for Orion’s factory systems and process and machine automation at the factory locations in Turku, Salo, Espoo, and Kuopio. Within the group, we work in smaller teams, each with its own area of responsibility.
