Are you eager to utilise your skills and learn more in the heart of drug product development? This is your opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary team and do work that matters and in the end benefits the patients’ lives.

We are looking for a research-driven student or recently graduated that is eager to apply pharmaceutical science for the advancement of drug development projects. Your main responsibility is to study the behaviour of excipients in a wet granulation process using a mixer torque rheometer (MTR). In addition, you will work with flowability determination of powdered materials, such as powder blends and granules. The work contains laboratory work as well as data handling and review, making conclusions and reporting of the work. During the summer, you will also familiarize yourself with pharmaceutical manufacturing and analytical equipment and their use. The work involves collaboration with stakeholders working closely together in multi-disciplinary teams and thus gives a great opportunity to see and breathe pharmaceutical development in industrial settings.

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description
Orion’s pharmaceutical innovations are created within its R&D organization. We employ around 400 top professionals in the field of drug discovery and development. We work globally: in Espoo and Turku in Finland, in Nottingham in England and in New York, NY, USA. Orion R&D and the Innovative Medicines business division are dedicated to making a transformation to become a global player in the pain and oncology therapy areas.

This position is situated in Clinical Product Development unit, which belongs to Pharmaceutical Sciences department within Orion Pharma Research and Development. Your colleagues are scientists working with formulation development, and chemical and physical analytics. We operate in project teams to develop new drug products for humans in the exploratory phase of drug development process.
