About your role

Phase1 is Orion’s paid trainee programme designed for university students, bringing together a large and diverse group of talents from various fields every year. In addition to interesting summer jobs with meaningful projects, the programme offers a variety of events, networking opportunities with other Phase1 Trainees and Orion employees, as well as small group mentoring to support your career! In the role of ESO Trainee, your main responsibilities will center on External Supply Operations (ESO) department in Orion. This opportunity offers comprehensive exposure to a range of tasks associated with procurement and supply chain operations in the pharmaceutical industry. Based on your background and expertise, you will be engaged in activities such as process mapping and development, structuring instructions, providing assistance to diverse teams, and conducting data analysis. Furthermore, your involvement will extend to contributing to initiatives related to the preparation for different IT systems (data mining and analysis).

We have also operative purchasing team in India and your tasks include collaboration with them.

Our expectations

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and proactive person, who enjoys challenging goals and shows drive and determination towards fulfilling them together with his/her colleagues.

To succeed in this role we expect you to have:

• Around 50% of your University studies completed, preferably including several courses in the field of procurement management, logistics or Supply chain management.
• Former experience in sourcing and/or supply chain management is considered an asset
• Fluency in spoken and written Finnish and English
• Familiar with MS Office tools

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description
Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.

In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.

External Supply Operations (ESO) is the process within Orion responsible for the global supply chain and procurement activities related to externally sourced products, i.e. the products not manufactured in Orion’s own manufacturing sites. ESO is one of the three main processes within Orion’s Global Operations organization.
