We’re forming a new, forward-leaning team within F-Secure’s product organization. Our mission: to safeguard consumers against scams while delivering an exceptional user experience that sets the industry standard for protection and usability.

We’re hiring a Principal Full Stack Engineer to join this team in Helsinki. You’ll lead by doing — defining our architecture, setting technical standards, and solving the toughest challenges as we prototype, ship, and scale new products to millions of users.

About the team

We’re F-Secure’s New Products and Innovations team — leveraging F-Secure’s proven security technologies while pioneering new consumer experiences, tools, and product concepts.

We're small by design: a cross-functional unit of engineers, designers, and product thinkers with autonomy to explore, prototype, and deliver at startup speed. Everyone is hands-on — there are no management layers, no one on the sidelines. We all ship, contribute directly to the product, and own outcomes together. We cut through bureaucracy, make decisions fast, and focus relentlessly on what matters most — building consumer experiences that feel intuitive, human, and trustworthy.

Our focus is deeply meaningful. Scams are no longer amateur threats — they’re industrial-scale operations that manipulate people emotionally and financially. We’re building something that restores confidence and peace of mind, replacing fear, confusion, and shame with clarity, protection, and recovery. Every feature we ship could help someone avoid losing their savings or rebuild trust after an attack.

We aim for MLP — Minimum Lovable Product — not just viable. Every prototype must earn its place in consumers’ hands by solving a real problem beautifully.

What you’ll do

As Principal Full Stack Engineer, you’ll be both architect and builder — setting direction while staying deeply hands-on. You’ll define our SW architecture, evolve our cloud, and lead by example through code, mentorship, and technical excellence.

Your day-to-day may include:

• Building end-to-end features from React Native to Node.js APIs to AWS infrastructure
• Writing client code, creating reusable components and patterns the team can leverage across devices
• Implementing exceptional consumer experiences with fluid animations, smooth interactions, and careful performance optimization
• Setting the technical bar through CI/CD, prototyping and building exemplary implementations
• Balancing cost optimization and performance across free and premium service tiers
• Driving a rapid internal alpha → beta (10k+ users) → production delivery rhythm
• Collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers to bring concepts to life through prototypes and production releases

This is a hands-on technical leadership role — you’ll shape direction through your own code, guide design decisions, and mentor others by example. What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an exceptional engineer — someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds clarity through code, and leads with both vision and craft.

You’ll do well here if you have:

• 10+ years building production-grade full stack or mobile applications
• Deep expertise in React Native and Expo, with multiple apps shipped at scale across iOS and Android
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills, with experience designing and implementing scalable backend APIs
• Solid cloud infrastructure experience in production environments, AWS strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Swift and/or Kotlin for when you need to go beyond React Native
• You care deeply about performance, animations, and the details that make experiences feel delightful
• Excellent communication skills, you build trust through clear reasoning and pragmatic technical decisions
• Problem-solving instincts — you simplify complexity and make smart tradeoffs between speed and quality
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Rive or similar animation tools for creating polished, fluid UI experiences
• Understanding of observability and performance monitoring across the full stack
• Experience balancing rapid innovation with production reliability at scale
• Previous work on freemium or tiered consumer products requiring thoughtful architecture
• Experience mentoring and elevating other engineers
