We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sustainability Communications Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that highlight our sustainability initiatives and achievements to our external and internal audiences in all channels. Valmet is taking a business-driven step change in our sustainability agenda, which is at the core of our new strategy and drives our further commercialization.
The preferred location for this position is at Valmet´s head office in Espoo, Finland, but other Valmet locations can be considered. In this position you will report to the Director of External Communications in our Communications and Brand team.
Key responsibilities:
Drive and manage our sustainability communications planning (external and internal) and create compelling content and engagement with our audiences together with the sustainability team, connecting the topic to Valmet’s overall storytelling and strategic milestones
Create and publish compelling content to Valmet’s key channels, including webpages, intranet, social media, Annual Review report and interim reports
Write, manage and publish sustainability-related press releases
Create and execute sustainability-related communications projects and campaigns
Other communications tasks as required
Qualifications:
For success in this role, we are looking for a communications professional capable of working independently with a proactive, can-do mindset and the ability to move across strategic thinking and operational tasks across various communications initiatives. The following skills and experience are necessary for this position:
Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability communications or similar roles
University-level degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
Proficiency in content planning and creation and a thorough understanding of modern communications channels and tools
Creative and strategic thinking
Proven project management skills in a dynamic environment with multiple simultaneous workstreams
Ability to plan and develop multi-channel content in line with Valmet brand and business objectives
Fluent English language skills
