About the role

In this role, you wont just be sitting behind a screen; you'll have a broad impact on the entire process. Working within an expert network, about half of your working time will be spent on machine design—further developing our current products and new equipment, such as pressure vessels and hygienic solutions. Roughly a fifth of your work consists of customer-specific engineering, which includes technical problem-solving, defining equipment specifications, component selection, and managing procurement processes. The remainder of your role involves managing subcontracting and projects. You can primarily work remotely if you wish, but the role requires visiting our production center in Joensuu about once a month, as well as global travel—from Vietnam to the Americas. The final job description will be tailored based on the selected candidate's experience and expertise.

Work tasks

  • Design and development of industrial food processing equipment and systems
  • Management of production schedules and collaboration with external subcontractors
  • Review and approval of technical requirements for components
  • Procurement and component purchasing activities
  • Identifying customer needs, solving technical problems, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Design and drafting work using Creo software
  • Domestic and international customer visits as part of project implementation

We are looking for

  • A suitable degree in engineering (Bachelors or Masters level)
  • Experience in mechanical or process design, preferably related to food machinery or industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., SolidWorks or Creo)
  • Fluent spoken and written English, and good proficiency in Finnish
  • Willingness to travel internationally a few times per year

To succeed in the role, your personal skills are:

  • You have good project management and communication skills
  • You work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • You have experience working with external subcontractors and suppliers
  • You have a customer-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
