PART-TIME CASHIER / WAITER

Shanghai Taste is looking for a part-time Cashier / Waiter to join our team in the heart of Helsinki.

We are looking for a friendly, energetic and customer-oriented person who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and genuinely wants to help customers.

Your responsibilities include:

• Welcoming and serving customers in a friendly manner
• Taking customer orders and handling payments
• Helping customers and explaining our menu and products
• Sales and recommending products to customers
• Serving food and drinks
• Keeping the dining area clean and organized
• Cleaning tables and restaurant areas
• Other daily restaurant tasks

We expect you to have:

• At least 1–2 years of customer service experience
• Excellent and friendly customer service skills
• A genuine desire to help customers and create a great customer experience
• A sales-oriented mindset and the ability to recommend products naturally
• Good stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure
• The ability to work efficiently during busy periods
• Quick problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently
• A proactive and responsible attitude
• Reliability and good teamwork skills
• A valid Hygiene Passport (required)
• Alcohol Serving Passport is considered a plus
• Good Finnish and English skills
• Chinese language skills are considered an advantage

Working hours

• Part-time position
• 2–5 shifts per week
• Shifts are mainly between 11:00 and 20:00
• Working hours can be arranged flexibly

Training provided

Full training will be provided for the position, so you do not need to know all of our procedures from day one.

What matters most to us is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, good customer service and the ability to work as part of a team.

Employment

• 4-month probationary period
• After the probationary period, the employment will continue as a permanent, open-ended employment relationship, provided that the cooperation is successful and the position is a good fit for both sides.

Working in a restaurant can sometimes be very busy. That is why we value someone who can stay calm under pressure, handle stressful situations and find quick solutions when problems arise.

You don't need to know everything immediately. We expect you to take responsibility, ask questions when needed and always try to find a good solution for the customer.

For us, great customer service means more than simply taking an order. We want someone who communicates warmly with customers, understands their needs and is comfortable with sales and making recommendations.
