As a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical solutions to solve business issues through the use and support of (big) data. You will help leverage machine-learning and analytics use cases to build new data-driven products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with senior business leaders and data scientists to translate business goals into highly scalable data management systems
• Implement and design databases or Big Data environments to facilitate the design, development and delivery of statistical and predictive models for client projects
• Work with cross-functional business, analytics, and IT teams to deliver scalable successes
• Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts
• Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data
• Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures
• Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
• Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g. scripting languages) to marry systems together
• Drive the development of Dain Studios’ analytics product portfolio

Requirements:

• Master’s/PhD degree in computer science, or a related field
• Big Data skills: Scala, Hadoop, Spark, R, Java, Python
• Strong NoSQL, document database and unstructured datastore skills
• Strong SQL skills and database and data warehouse understanding
• Comfortable with UNIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows, BSD and so on
• Experience working in mobile and online services an advantage
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management
