Senior Mobile Engineer

Epic Games is searching for experienced Engine Programmers to support the Unreal Engine working with a range of high-end mobile platforms. In this role, you’ll work closely with a wide range of internal teams to ship our games and the Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate has a deep love of problem-solving, loves learning new systems and APIs, and has experience creating tools, APIs and workflows used by other game developers.
Responsibilities:
Making significant improvements to the workflows used by thousands of professional developers making high-end mobile games using Unreal Engine 4
Developing PC-based tools for mobile content creators to be able to reliably develop optimized mobile content without needing to iterate on device
Writing and improving content-wrangling tools and asset pipelines for mobile and cross-platform games
Improving build and iteration workflows for Unreal Engine mobile game developers
Qualifications:
Strong C++ skills
Strong English language skills, written and verbal
Professional game or engine development experience with UE4 or Unity on a mobile, console or embedded platform
Experience and interest in developing tools, workflows and user interfaces used by content creators and other game developers
Ability to develop well-thought-out APIs and systems intended for use by others
Mobile game development experience desirable, including some of the following:
Knowledge of or experience using mobile toolchains, build systems, development tools, and platform APIs
Experience with Android NDK and/or iOS with C++/Obj-C
Knowledge of or experience using mobile development tools, toolchains, build systems and platform APIs, as well as the broader Android or iOS platform ecosystem
Exposure to mobile rendering and mobile GPU limitations
Experience with mobile device compatibility issues
