We are looking for a Data Acquisition Engineer to join our growing team in Helsinki, Finland.

As a Data Acquisition Engineer, you have an opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing Finnish startup. Your main responsibility is making sure our customer data is scraped and maintained as well as possible using the tools provided by Sniffie product team. The data quality is crucial for our business and therefore our future Data Acquisition Engineer is expected to have a passion for constantly learning and developing data related skills. The position for Data Acquisition Engineer is not a programming job and does not require any programming skills. 

Requirements and daily routines

Your daily routine will contain mostly web scraping and web and product data management using tools built by Sniffie product team. Web scraping requires basic knowledge in HTML, CSS, XPath, and at times JavaScript. Having experience in some of these areas are considered a plus, but we will train you fully for the job if we see the potential in you. In data management, skill in Excel / Google Sheets are considered a plus and understanding what is relevant in the scraped data is super important for us. You will learn what product features are relevant for decision making for our current and future customers. 

In addition to your daily tasks, we expect you to be able to participate in developing our data management processes. Since you are going to be our expert in customer data, you will have our complete trust to come up with new ideas in data management and guidelines for web data scraping and management.

As a Data Acquisition Engineer, you will be a part of Sniffie's Customer Success team and work under the supervision of our Head of Data, Aleksi, and in close cooperation with our CTO, Niko.
