Performance Services provides high level expert services to optimize our customer’s mill performance in terms of production, quality, cost and environmental impact by applying Valmet DNA and Valmet Industrial Internet based tools and applications.

As a  Process Optimization Specialist, you will perform complex multidimensional performance analysis of client’s processes to identify potential improvements, troubleshoot and correct performance problems. You will develop and maintain customer performance improvement roadmap as well as develop advanced control and optimization solutions. You will work as a lead engineer and provide technical expert support to project and service personnel in the design of advanced control strategies, technology implementation, commissioning and maintenance of advanced process control and real time optimization solutions for our pulp and paper customer.

Expectations

We are looking for a person, who has strong knowledge in mechanical pulping, paper making, recycled fiber processes and stock preparation.  Background from control engineering, process modeling and optimization would be preferred. You can be a rising talent with suitable studies or a senior specialist, meaning at least five years’ experience in the field.

B.Sc or M.Sc. Degree in Chemical, Electrical (EET or EE) or Control Engineering is a really good educational background for you. In addition, we value if you have some experience in process performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimization; Plant process operations, engineering and maintenance. Process modeling and data-analysis are topics that you feel comfortable. Basics from Valmet DNA helps you to onboard, but we will train and help you to grow in the field of process optimization.

In global organization, you need to have fluent written and spoken English and Finnish, other languages are a plus. You are able and willing to travel globally.

As a person, you are analytical, problem solving specialist who can see the big picture and develop our processes and technology forward. You are used to collaborate with different people and you can keep your customer service mindset also in challenging situations. Developing new ways of working, driving change and hands-on attitude towards work is close to your heart.
