Cloud Architect Azure (f/m/d)

ABOUT THE JOB
 

We’re looking for a senior engineer with architectural skills to join our cloud infrastructure team, who is responsible for the efficient, reliable, secure, and compliant operation of all our cloud-based service offerings across the company. As a cloud platform engineer, you will work with several different services in Azure.


You are a well experienced engineer with a good understanding of building distributed, scalable, and accessible systems, preferably in the domain of cloud services, databases, data infrastructure, and tooling. You are passionate about learning and collaborating closely with peers. Your empathy for your customers’ goals, enthusiasm working across teams, and desire to impact our purchase to pay solutions are ingredients for your success. As a Cloud Architect your main responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop technical solutions across business lines as part of an agile team
  • Define target IT architecture, standards and principles for our cloud solutions
  • Asses and comprehend business requirements and refine user stories
  • Follow-up, forecast and budget IT costs and provide status reports to stakeholders
  • Cooperate closely and proactively with vendors
  • Collaborate with platform managers, team leads and teams to ensure harmonized and optimal software delivery, application performance, and scalability to build highly resilient systems

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FROM YOU?

We are looking for an experienced, passionate candidate, who enjoys working in teams and is eager to invest in his/her own professional development and fulfills the following skills:

  • Strong domain expertise with cloud platforms on Azure amongst other things
    • Terraform / Azure Resource Manager deployments
    • Azure Storage
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert is a plus
  • Excellent grasp of software architecture and design as well as microservices based architectures
  • Experience in working on Linux environment (administration)
  • Background in configuration management tools (e.g. ansible, puppet, chef)
  • Working knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment tools
    (e.g. Github, CircleCI,
    Jenkins, Capistrano, Deb)
  • Working knowledge in some of the following areas:
    • Docker
    • Docker orchestration / scheduling
    • Kafka
    • ElasticSearch
    • MySQL
    • Redis
  • Strong background in continuous monitoring tools
  • Flexibility and adaptability in multi-project/multi-customer/multi-solution environment
  • Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with high initiative


DESIRED SKILLS
 

  • Msc/Bsc in computer engineering or related skills
  • JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methods
  • Experience of open source software projects

 
To succeed in this role, you also need to have strong verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to work in a global organization within virtual teams. We are in contact with our international colleagues on a daily basis and English is our official language. You are also expected to solve problems independently and share knowledge with team members and other stakeholders. You should be well-versed with coding and scripting skillset. You have an understanding or are willing to learn the automation of the whole software development lifecycle from continuous integration to continuous deployment to continuous monitoring.
