This position is part of the KONE International Trainee Program (ITP) and is an internship for university students or recent graduates. Within ITP you get to work and develop your skills in interesting and challenging projects and gain valuable international work experience already during your studies.

International Trainee, IoT Developer, Hyvinkää, Finland

 As IoT developer trainee you would be working with cloud development activities related to KONE IoT platform. Tasks include using different cloud services and doing programming, configuration and testing related to the functionalities developed. You will be part of international team and working closely with other KONE software development teams locally and virtually.

TEAM DESCRIPTION

KONE IoT platform team is responsible for developing KONE IoT platform which is responsible for connecting KONE equipment (elevators, escalators and automatic building doors) and managing the devices and providing data and commanding them remotely. Team is consisting of KONE people working in Hyvinkää, Finland and Chennai, India and external contractors based in Finland and India.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development, configuration and testing with different cloud services and microservices
• Working with agile practices as part of the development teams
• Documenting the work done
• Actively participating in code and design discussions and reviews
• Learn and use core cloud technologies for building microservices and APIs.
• Collaborating closely with other development teams, software architects, project managers and stakeholders
• Need to work closely with Product Owner and feature teams to develop new features.

WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE

• Programming background (Java/Node.js)
• Motivation and preferably some experience on cloud development (AWS/Azure/Google/IBM)
• Experience/willingness to work with agile methodologies
• Knowledge on developing microservices and Rest APIs
• Knowledgeable about testing and DevOps
• Knowledge on IoT related technologies would be plus
• Expected to be a self-starter, motivated, innovative and adapt to changes.
• Comfortable in collaboration in English with good communication skills
• Master's level studies or a recent graduate
