Are you a commercially oriented finance professional and looking for new challenges in leading digital services and software company?

The Deal Finance (DF) team is part of the sales community in TietoEVRY with focus primarily on our large and complex transactions. The team interacts with various subject matter experts in the company to ensure that the larger deals meet corporate guidelines and requirements in terms of commercial structure, financial metrics, IAS, and overall business risk.

The DF team is responsible for preparing and presenting financial evaluation metrics for Senior Management as well as having a detailed knowledge of the commercial context within which deals are negotiated. The DF main responsibilities encompass being an integral part of the sales team tasked with maximizing the win probability on transactions by meeting our customers’ requirements and objectives.

The team is now growing and are we are looking for (Senior) Deal Finance Professional to join us in Espoo, Finland.

As part of the DF team you will work with costing, pricing, commercial deal shaping and structuring for large and complex outsourcing arrangements to deliver the client value proposition whilst ensuring protection of TietoEVRY’s economic and commercial interest. 

In this role you will be working with:

  • Working within the sales team to setup and develop the financial representation of the costs, provisions, prices and financial adjustments for the transactions
  • Participating in the initial analysis of project viability and pricing (high level business cases)
  • Being responsible for insightful qualitative analysis based on standard tools as well as ad-hoc analysis (Excel based)
  • Preparing (in conjunction with the appropriate team members, including junior members of the DF team) client output e.g. price templates, business cases etc.
  • Defining and mitigating financial risk, and ensuring that an appropriate level of risk provisions are reflected in the financial representations
  • Working closely with the  Sales Executive/Customer Executive during negotiations, including participating directly in client interactions where appropriate
  • Ensuring that both the internal business case as well as the client value proposition is deliverable and mutual benefice to both TietoEVRY and our customers.

The role may include occasional travel (mainly Nordic scope, on average 25% of the time).

This is what we expect

To succeed in this role, you can be either senior finance professional or looking for the next step from your current junior finance role.

To be able to work as a Senior Deal Finance professional, you have several years of relevant work experience from e.g. similar transaction based finance roles (including complex pricing and commercial deal shaping), corporate finance, commercially oriented audit, commercial business/project controlling or equivalent.

For a more junior position, some work experience from commercially oriented finance roles is expected, e.g. corporate finance, corporate banking, transaction support/advisory or commercially oriented business controlling.

In addition, you should have:

  • Excellent understanding of management and financial accounting and corporate finance principles, ideally IAS basis
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particular Excel (primary tool)
  • Interest to work within IT industry
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and preferably in Finnish (but not mandatory)
  • Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics)

As a person you are analytical with attention to details. You have a strong commercial focus and it’s easy for you to use numbers as a tool to illustrate commercial concepts. You are proactive and independent in your work, and comfortable with project based and virtual working environment.

You have excellent communication and presentation skills and advisory mindset – it’s natural of you to build trust with senior management, customers and other key stakeholders.
