We are looking for assertive and independent commissioning-engineer who has good social skills and ability and willingness to learn and share expertise with others.

Paper Business line’s Project Operations is responsible for the commissioning of paper and board machines around the world, therefore start-up engineers work a great deal of their working time at our customers’ paper mills around the world.

Due the nature of the work, your office location can be any Valmet location in Finland.

Your main responsibilities are:

• elaborate testing and commissioning plan together with Automation supervisor and Paper technology manager
• provide both hands-on and classroom training to customer’s personnel
• be an expert of paper making and related processes
• providing technical support to customer’s personnel during machine tuning phase
• prepare training materials in cooperation with training coordinators
• support in factory acceptance tests when needed
• separate trouble shooting tasks
• reporting

Requirements

You have a relevant technical education such as Bachelor or Master of Science at paper technology or process technology. We appreciate work experience of paper or board machine lines. Hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and electrification know-how would be an asset. However, the most important skill is willingness and enthusiasm to learn new things and persistence to get the job done no matter of the challenges together with site crew.

Good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential and other languages (especially Finnish) are an asset. Excellent negotiation skills and capability to work under varying pressure and in different situations helps you in this position.

This job requires the ability to travel more than 150 days a year.
