Job description

The position is located in The Quantum Computing and Devices (QCD) group (https://www.aalto.fi/en/department-of-applied-physics/quantum-computing-and-devices-qcd) The Staff Scientist will be responsible for supporting the research environment of the QCD group. Tasks include:

• maintenance and development of the cryogenic infrastructure of four dilution refrigerators which involve vacuum, pressurized air, and water cooling.
• Ordering laboratory consumables and services
•  Upkeep of records and logs
•  Possibly design and building of room temperature and cryogenic electronics
•  Possibly programming of measurement electronics

The required qualifications of applicants

• Doctoral degree in an applicable field such as electronical engineering, computer science and/or physics
• Good team work skills
• Experience in programming
• Experience in assembling electronical equipment
• Fluency in both spoken and written English

Salary, working time and place of work

The salary is based on the salary system of Finnish universities. The applicants may also present their own salary expectations. In addition to salary, the contract includes Aalto University occupational healthcare.  The annual total working time of research and teaching staff at Aalto University is 1624 hours. The position is located at the Aalto University Otaniemi campus in Espoo, Finland.
