Job Summary:

Ericsson IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a 4G/5G core network solution that delivers rich real-time communication services for both consumer and business users over any access network and for any device types, including smartphones, tablets, wearables, laptops and fixed phones. Examples of communication services are HD voice (VoLTE), Wi-Fi calling, enriched messaging, enriched calling with pre-call info, video calling, HD video conferencing and web communication. Virtualized Network Function (VNF) based IMS networks are deployed globally. Our team in Finland is part of IMS development organization working with these VNFs as well as cloudification of the VNFs.

We are looking for enthusiastic software developers with verification background to strengthen our development teams with feature integration and system verification competence. You will work with IMS nodes, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), networks, virtual (CEE, RHOSP, VMware), and Cloud Native (K8s, Docker) environment collecting system characteristics feedback of our products. Activities include planning, preparation and execution and automating of test activities, analyzing test results, reporting faults and supporting other developers with trouble-shooting, customer demonstrations, on-site system integration and customer support.

Key Qualifications:

• MSc/BSc degree in Computer Science, Communication engineering, Math, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with Verification and verification automation
• Software programming experience in Python or Java preferably within domain test automation development or test tools development
• Experience with IP networking and configuration
• Experience with load generation tools
• Knowledge of VMware, Openstack and/or RedHat Cloud and Linux OS
• Foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
• Comfortable with modern software development tools such as Git, Gerrit, Jenkins etc.
• Flexibility, quick learning
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in Agile teams

Seen as Advantage:

• Knowledge of Mobile Networks nodes and protocols
• Familiarity with IMS networks, VoLTE
• Experience with application traffic behavior and characteristics
• Experience in developing and optimizing real-time applications for memory, code size and network traffic
• Experience with Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization
• Knowledge of Linux Containers, Kubernetes
• Security competence
