Job Description


We are seeking for an outgoing Head Guide to lead our wilderness guide team in the Northern Lights Village. In this position, you will supervise the experiences personnel on the field, as well as guide the activities yourself.

Head Guide responsibilities are:

  • Assist in guiding and managing our team
  • Leading by setting a good example and engaging the team to help it achieve its goals
  • Your duties will include daily supervision, management, and motivation of team members
  • Set clear team goals and motivate team members
  • Oversee daily operations, delegating tasks and setting deadlines
  • Interact with team members to receive their feedback and help to resolve any problems
  • Overseeing that all the activities equipment is being handled in a proper way
  • Keep track of the inventory
  • Report any damage or accident
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the Safari House and the activities areas.


Head Guide requirements are:

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Valid B drivers' license
  • First Aid certificate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 3+ years' experience of working as a wilderness guide
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong decision-making, organizational and time-management skills
  • Wilderness Guide education or equivalent


It would be beneficial for a Wilderness Guide to:

  • Speak other languages: Finnish, Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish and French are an advantage.
  • Have knowledge of the local area
  • Photography skills
  • Ability to handle groups of up to 20 pax without assistance
  • Experience on the field
  • Adaptability and flexibility


Pay, duration and benefits:

  • Minimum 90 working hours per 3 weeks period.
  • Starting in November and until the end of March.
  • Hourly pay negotiated in an interview, according to knowledge and experience
  • Other benefits according to the collective labor agreement.
  • If necessary, the resort provides accommodation in a shared room for €200,00/month
