Digital Operations is a department inside Elisa’s Software Services unit which is leading the development and implementation of various key objectives to further advance Elisa’s journey to be the most advanced telecommunications operator in the world and responsible for development of Elisa’s automation, online and emerging services. We develop automation through software engineering, follow and implement agile methods, improve daily practices and strive for overall operational excellence in whatever we do to help all activities across the wide variety available at Elisa.

We are a now looking for a Site Reliability Engineerto join our SRE team in Digital Operations, part of core of shared capabilities in Software Services. To enable efficient work in the development teams and resulting high quality services, our team develops shared practices, platforms and tools. This is achieved by continuously seeking out and trialing new technologies and processes with which to automate and scale manual work – as well as supporting and educating the developers in their use.

Even though you dream in Kubernetes manifests, never-failing CI/CD pipelines and thoroughly instrumented applications, our work happens in co-operation with other developers, so people skills are equally important. We are people with strengths and interests in different areas, but we’d like everyone to be able to help each other through having a good grasp on the various parts of the whole area of responsibility. Thismeans tasks with varying degree of complexity, but we aim to distribute these among the team according to skill-level and willingness to learn.

This is a great opportunity for You if You love to thoroughly understand and tinker with all aspects of cloud-native software applications.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Solve and automate the ops challenges that different development teams face in their quest to high quality services through software development methods.
• Participate as a team member in operating and developing our Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines and other tools aimed to make software development more efficient.
• Support and educate developers on the efficient usage of the platforms and tools our team is responsible for.
• Seek out and trial new technologies to develop our processes and toolchain further.

We hope you can bring to the table:

• Experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, or similar)
• Experience in developer workflow with version control (GitHub, or similar)
• CI/CD experience (e.g. Jenkins, Drone, GitHub Actions)
• Python, Golang or other coding skills
• Several years of relevant experience in software development and agile methodologies

And you will benefit from:

• AWS/Google Cloud/OpenStack/OpenShift experience or even certification
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana
• Interest or experience with cloud security
• Ansible, APM knowledge
