We are looking for an energetic communications Specialist to join our Stakeholder Relations team to contribute to the success of UPM operations in Pietarsaari, Finland. This vacancy is temporary from 3rd of August 2020 to 31st of January 2021 during the study leave of the permanent position holder.

The UPM Pietarsaari pulp mill, Alholma sawmill and UPM Forest regional wood procurement operations are located in Alholma, Pietarsaari. At this versatile bioforestry mill site, locally sourced wood is processed into sawn timber, pulp, paper, converted paper products, and energy. Sustainable raw materials, high energy independency, efficient use of industrial residues and side streams and synergies from integrate operations are the corner stone of our operations. www.upmpietarsaari.fi

What you’ll do

  • Manage and develop UPM Pietarsaari internal and external communications ensuring up-to-date content in line with communication plans and business strategies as well as UPM brand and values
  • Manage and execute various internal and external communication processes and projects ranging from employee and safety communications to local media relations
  • Strongly contribute to the employer image of UPM Pietarsaari with planned actions and actively engaging with local and regional students, educational institutes and schools

Who you are

  • You have at least two years' of relevant experience and a degree in communications or marketing
  • You have experience in website, photo and basic video editing, and social media management
  • You are well-organised team player with the capability to quickly adapt to changing situations
  • You have excellent writing skills in Finnish and English, Swedish is seen as an advantage
