We are now looking for a Proposal Engineer to join the Energy Business Africa & Europe organisation and be part of the Solutions Sales Support Team. The selected person will report to General Manager, Solutions Sales Support, Africa & Europe.

Location: The location for the position is Finland, Vaasa.

What you will be doing?
 
Your main responsibility as a Proposal Engineer is to develop solutions focusing on achieving the best value for the customers and to be part of a high-performing multicultural team with a customer first mindset.

In this position you will work with for example:

  • Configure a functional Power Plant according to customer requirements & defined needs
  • Generate customer specific solutions, specifications and quotations according to needs of Sales
  • Participate & assist the BDM in technical and commercial meetings with customers 
  • Preparing cost calculations according to directives and agreed targets
  • Evaluate technical and environmental risks of the solution.
  • Perform technical assistance to Sales and customers 
  • Coordinate daily activities and urgent requests with relevant colleagues in order to find satisfactory solutions
  • Act as a Polarion key user

To be successful in this role, we expect you to demonstrate:

  • As a person you are driven, open-minded and self-motivated. You have a drive & desire for creating customer centric value propositions, and in identifying, developing customer’s explicit and implicit requirements. You are eager to work with complex systems and integration. You easily interact with people from all organisational levels and have strong presentation and communication skills. You have fluency in written and oral English. You lead by example.

 
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • The ideal candidate has a professional education as Bachelor or Master of Science - Engineering related to Energy Technology (e.g. Mechanical/Process/Electrical)
  • 1 - 3 years of working experience in energy/engineering industry
  • Comfortable with different software tools 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must have ability to work effectively in a global team environment 
  • Goal focused and a "can do" attitude 
  • Desire and drive for developing self and others 
  • Fluency in written and oral English
  • Any other language skills seen as advantage
  • Previous experience in Sales/Project management of power plants will be advantageous
