High quality master data is a critical enabler for smooth business operations as it allows processes to flow without disturbances. In Wärtsilä Global Logistics Services (WGLS), Master Data Experts support operations through master data governance and by providing expert knowledge and guidance for daily operations, business integrations and other development projects.

We are now looking for a (Senior) Master Data Expert to support our master data processes during the SAP S/4 Hana implementation program. The position can be located in one of the WGLS main locations in Europe: Vaasa, Helsinki, Turku (FI); Kampen, Drunen (NL).

In this position, you will proactively review and maintain master data quality to identify and eliminate possible risks related to missing or incorrect data. Special focus during the coming years is to proactively ensure master data quality before implementation of new ERP solution. In case of master data related issues, you are expected to perform analysis to identify reasons for non-conformity and to prevent them from reoccurring. In addition, you will be involved in activities related to digitalization and automaton of master data related processes.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure business flow by providing guidance and support related to material master data
• Support data migration and master data improvements during SAP S/4 Hana implementation programme
• Identify and evaluate development opportunities related master data processing within WGLS
• Increase process automation within WGLS with a special focus on master data quality
• Maintain master data related business process mapping and documentation
• Participate in cross-functional development projects

Skills and characteristics that help you to succeed in this position:

• Understanding of common supply chain activities and Wärtsilä Spare Parts processes
• Prior experience on working with master data is considered mandatory
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset 
• Experience on SAP is considered mandatory and earlier experience of S/4 Hana is considered advantage
• Experience on RPA and SQL queries
• Ability to work independently in an expert role
• Fluency in English
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. (technical, commercial or statistics) or similar working experience.
