Tampereen yliopiston Lääketieteen ja terveysteknologian tiedekunnassa on haettavana bioinformatiikan yliopisto-opettajan tai tutkijan tehtävä. Tehtävä täytetään kolmen vuoden määräajaksi. Työsuhde alkaa 1.12.2020 tai sopimuksen mukaan, ja tehtävässä on kuuden kuukauden koeaika. 

Tehtävänkuvaus

Tehtävänä on antaa ja edistää bioinformatiikan koulusta, tehdä ja ohjata tieteellistä tutkimusta sekä seurata alansa tieteellistä kehitystä. 

Opetustehtävät sisältävät vastuuta bioinformatiikan koulutuksesta osana bioteknologian koulutusta. Laskennallisen biologian tutkimusryhmä tarjoaa ympäristön tutkimustyölle. Ryhmä on osa Suomen Akatemian kasvaingenetiikan tutkimuksen huippuyksikköä. 

Edellytykset

Tehtävään valittavalta edellytämme

• pääsääntöisesti tohtorin tutkintoa soveltuvalta alalta. Tehtävään voidaan valita myös yliopiston ylemmän korkeakoulututkinnon suorittanut henkilö, joka on erittäin hyvin perehtynyt tehtäväalaan ja opetustoimintaan.
• näyttöjä aktiivisesta itsenäisestä tieteellisestä tutkimustyöstä
• kykyä antaa korkeatasoista tutkimukseen perustuvaa opetusta ja ohjausta
• Sujuvaa englannin kielen taitoa

Otamme valinnassa huomioon yliopistopedagogiset opinnot tai muut pedagogiset opetusansiot ja opetuskokemuksen.

Palkkaus perustuu yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmän opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön vaativuustasoon 5 tai 6. Tehtäväkohtaisen palkanosan lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa.

 The Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology at Tampere University is looking for a University Instructor or Researcher in bioinformatics. The position will be filled for a fixed-term period of three (3) years. The starting date is 1 December 2020 or as mutually agreed. A trial period of six (6) months applies to all our new employees. .

Job description

University Instructor or Researcher is expected to implement and develop bioinformatics education and to conduct, organize, and supervise scientific research. 

Teaching duties include responsibilities in bioinformatics education as a part of biotechnology degree programme. Computational biology research group will provide an environment and support for scientific research. Group is part of the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence in Tumor Genetics research.

Requirements

A successful candidate will have:

• Doctoral degree from a relevant field. Candidates with a Masters degree and exceptional qualifications in teaching and research can also be considered.
• Demonstration of active independent research
• Skills required to give teaching and supervise students based on high level research 
• Fluency in English

University level pedagogical education, other pedagogical merits, and teaching experience will be taken into account.

The salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employee’s personal performance in accordance with the salary system of Finnish universities. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a University Instructor or Researcher is placed on level 5 or 6 of the job requirements scale.
