Wärtsilä Fuel Gas Supply Systems is a global marine market leader specializing in LNG and Methanol fuel systems. Our primary mission is to facilitate the transition to 100% renewable fuels for our valued customers. In addition to our expertise in LNG and Methanol, we are actively involved in developing and selling fuel systems for other promising future fuels, including Ammonia and Hydrogen. With our innovative solutions, we are committed to driving the maritime industry towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

We are looking for a highly motivated and result-driven Project Purchaser to strengthen our team. The preferred location for the position is Vaasa, Finland.

 
Your main responsibilities:


As a Project Purchaser, your primary role will involve overseeing project-related purchasing activities within designated project teams. This includes managing the purchasing budget, coordinating deliveries to meet project requirements, and conducting offer evaluations and project-specific purchase negotiations with suppliers. Additionally, you will be ensuring alignment and cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Responsible for purchasing budget
  • Purchasing plan creation
  • Project-specific RFQ, negotiations & Purchasing
  • Project & delivery follow-up
  • Logbook creation
  • Responsible for inbound deliveries
  • Late delivery & quality claims
  • Certification follow-up

 
Requirements:   


As an ideal candidate, you would have:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Economics or Engineering
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Solid supply chain knowledge
  • Solid experience in SAP and MS Office tools 
  • Strong personal drive, accustomed to taking own initiatives and being proactive
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

To succeed as a Project Purchaser, you should be a team player with good negotiation skills and a result-oriented attitude. 
The tasks require accuracy, so you should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to work under pressure.
