Wärtsilä Marine Business is now looking for an Automation Expert / Automation Engineer to strengthen Catalyst Systems product line’s Engineering team in growing environmental business.

Position name will be defined according to your experience.

In our dynamic and entrepreneurial organization, we develop, sell, and deliver world class gas- and particle emission control solutions. As part of our team you will collaborate across our organization and suppliers delivering catalyst systems and solutions to Energy and Marine projects. This is a permanent position and located preferably in Vaasa, Finland or Turku, Finland.

Your typical day

As an Automation Expert/Engineer your main responsibilities include both, delivery project specific work and automation system development related tasks.

Following tasks are essential part of your work: 

- Development tasks related to designing, implementing and testing new features and functionalities for the emission control systems
- Develop interface and design solutions in cooperation with other product lines, external suppliers and equipment manufacturers
- Project specific automation system configurations, support for product testing and field activities for our customer deliveries

- Support suppliers, sales and projects on automation related questions and trouble shooting

You
- Have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in the field of automation or equivalent.

- Have understanding of process control and can design and implement new control strategies.

- Are able to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics and other related documents.
- Know how to read and apply technical specifications and legislative directives to the final product.
- Are capable of designing and troubleshooting automation systems and networks.

- Are familiar with C/C++ & Matlab/Simulink and have knowledge of industrial automation systems.

- Work in a systematic and analytic way and always maintain a lifecycle perspective in your work.

- Can create new concepts and industrialize them.
- Speak fluent English and Finnish or Swedish.

You may also possess

- 5 or more years of experience with similar tasks.

- Knowledge of Cyber security standards and ways of implementation.

- Experience from industrial PLC systems(Modicon) and Wärtsilä UNIC automation system.

- Other programming and scripting skills.

- Knowledge of electrical codes(IEC, UL) and marine classification society regulations(DNV, ABS etc.).

- Experience from using software management tools such as Atlassian tools, GIT.
