The Department of Chemistry, in the Faculty of Mathematics and Science is currently seeking to recruit a candidate for the position of

PROJECT RESEARCHER, CHEMISTRY

The position starts in January 11, 2021, for a fixed-term of 2,5 years in the Academy of Finland funded project "A synergetic cleantech approach for the nutrient recovery from explosive industry wastewater: A Potential source of struvite fertilizer (EXPO-STV)".

Qualifications we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person for the post of project researcher. The position will focus on struvite precipitation and reductive transformation of nitro-compounds in explosives industries’ wastewater. The candidate should have a master's degree as well as research background in wastewater treatment and heterogeneous catalyst synthesis. Experience in working with chromatographic (GC MS and HPLC) instruments will be considered as merit. Precise working methods, team player attitude, ability to act independently and proficiency in English language are prerequisites for a project researcher.

The annual salary range will be approximately 30,000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used when the position is filled.
