Wärtsilä Marine, Power Supply is looking for a Strategic Purchaser. In this position, you act in a key role in supplier interface. The position is permanent, and its preferred location is Vaasa, Finland but other locations and countries are also possible.
 
Acting in a key role in supplier interface, Strategic Purchaser will lead the supply management activities within their individual area of responsibility and according to the category action plan.

 
As a Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
 

  • Contribute to cross-functional Category team strategy creation, action plan and implementation
  • Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time, Cost development and Compliance of materials and services for own area of responsibility
  • Managing and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiations
  • Creating and updating supplier agreements
  • Supporting supplier and product validation process
  • Securing supplier long-term capacity and forecasting
  • Analysing future supply-demand
  • Work closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product Management
  • Securing Compliance with Supply Management processes/procedures, tools, strategies and agreements

 
The below will enable you to shine in this role:
 

  • MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of international supply chain processes
  • Proven track record in sourcing
  • Well-developed and effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Engaging presentation skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
  • Self-motivated, driven and reliable to take responsibility for your actions
  • Experience in SAP is seen as a benefit
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel
