We are now looking for a Senior Analyst, Strategy and Business Development to join our Specialty Papers team in Helsinki, Finland.

UPM Specialty Papers produces labelling and packaging materials to global markets and fine papers to Asian markets. Its main customers are paper converters, distributors, retailers and printers. UPM Specialty Papers is an industry leader in sustainable development. Its high performance papers are produced in Finland and China. What you’ll do

As a member of the UPM Specialty Paper strategy team you will participate in various strategy projects and in enabling business area management’s decision-making.

As Senior Analyst, Strategy and Business Development you will be responsible for:

  • Developing holistic understanding of UPM Specialty Paper business environment by providing insightful market and competitor analysis

    • Explore market trends, drivers and opportunities

    • Build a view on demand development and scenarios for UPM Specialty Paper businesses

    • Follow economic and regulation development and analyze the business impact

    • Conduct competitor analysis

    • Transform data into insights that drive business value

  • Support in defining the strategy themes and the strategy story of UPM Specialty Papers

  • Developing the strategy process and strategic planning together with the team

Who you are

  • You have at least a master's degree in engineering, economics or equivalent field of studies

  • You have 3-5 years of relevant experience in strategy, business development, market research or similar work and have a proven track record and results

  • You are a curious minded, strategic thinker and able to synthesize large amounts of information and logically structure deliverable in a visual manner

  • You have excellent skills in qualitative and quantitative analyses with the ability to bring them to clear and concise conclusions

  • You have strong interpersonal, facilitation, team work and communication skills

  • You prioritize and handle both ambiguity and pressure well

  • In order to succeed you need proactive, open mindset and willingness to take full ownership
