Load & Haul Division’s Turku plant with in Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global technology and manufacturing center for underground loading & hauling equipment for mining industry. Today intelligent control system plays an essential and increasingly important role in safe and productive usage of mining equipment. R&D and Product Development organization is currently looking for a dynamic and innovative Lead Test Engineer in Control Systems SW area. The position is located in Turku, Finland.

Your mission

As a Lead Test Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining SW testing simulator environment that is base of the Control System SW testing. You will also define and execute test cases for all Control System generations. Developing and documenting more efficient ways to test the Control System SW is also an important part of this role. You ensure that the Test Engineers and SW Developers are able test Control System SW at all times.

To succeed in this role you have several years of hands on experience of SW testing and you are willing to learn how the Load and Haul machines operate in detail and in a larger high level scope. Controls System SW is the heart of the heavy mining machine and it has to work reliably in all possible cases.

Your main responsibilities include the following:

• SW Test case development and testing process development for all Control System generations

• SW Testing tasks of all Control System generations in several projects

• Ensuring that the Control System SW quality meets the required high quality targets. Control System SW has to work in extreme client environment conditions

• Close interaction with SW developers and System Engineers while testing new and existing SW features

• Simulator environment maintenance and development tasks for all Control System generations

Your character

You have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT/Software, automation or similar. You have proven track record of SW Testing and testing process development. You are a good team player that has good set of suitable team working skills. You are also able to define and execute high quality test cases independently to verify that the SW fulfils the functional specifications. You are capable to provide accurate and understandable bug reports. Knowledge of heavy mining machine Control Systems is considered as a major asset for this role.

Your fluent communication skills in English is a mandatory requirement. Proactive and systematic way of working and excellent skills in problem solving will be needed. You can work under pressure in a multicultural stakeholder environment and you have capability to meet the challenging targets in the field of Control System SW testing.
