Can you imagine a customer-friendly monitoring platform that can help chief mechanics in taking actions long before an alarm reaches the engine room of sailing LNG carriers and dredging vessels?! How fantastic would it be if this avoids wasting energy and resources? Take part in the next generation of predictive maintenance in the maritime sector. You will build great solutions that will ultimately help our customers in saving energy and resources while gaining safety. Join a team of more than 80 international professionals and help our Digital Development team in shaping a platform that focuses on detecting anomalies that indicate potential failures or reveal conditions involving the consumption of excess fuel.  

We are now looking for a Technical support engineer to join the team and take part of successfully handing over installations to our internal and external customers. Additionally, you as a part of team is responsible for improving efficiency of the mobilisation process through continuous improvement and actively supporting the development of digital products. We offer you interesting and challenging position in a team bringing digital products to market as a part Lifecycle Solutions for marine and energy customers. 

The position is temporary for the duration of approximately one year. This opportunity offers a valuable high-learning environment and the ability to gain knowledge in lifecycle solution business while delivering value to the organization.

The preferred location for the position is in Vaasa, Finland, but also Helsinki, Finland or Drunen, Netherlands.   


As a Technical support engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities:  

• Configuration work for securing successful mobilisation of existing digital products
• Quality assurance of rule based algorithms and machine learning models used in Expert Insight prior to handing over for delivery.
• Level 1 life cycle support for Expert Insight towards expertise centres and other function using the digital tools.
• Support and take part of development activities in Digital product development function
• Configuration work for securing successful mobilisation of existing digital products
 
To be successful in this role we expect you to have: 

• Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical /Process or automation engineering, Data Science  or equivalent.
• Engine or equipment performance experience seen as strong advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of Operation and maintenance activities
• Knowledge and understanding of engine functionality
• Experience from equipment condition monitoring seen as an advantage  
• Focused and can-do attitude
• Positive attitude towards digitalization, capability and interest to learn and implement new technologies in practice
• Understanding of process and software development basic practices
• Good analytical skills, ability to prioritize and make decisions based on data insights
• Good communication and presentation skills
• You are a team player, whilst being self-directing.
• You are fluent and can communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
