We are now looking for a Data Protection Expert or a Manager to Wärtsilä Group’s Data Protection, Privacy team. You will report to the Group Data Protection Manager and will work with Wärtsilä data protection network. You will also work closely with Cyber Security, Information Management, Legal Affairs and liaise closely with business and support function stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
You are invited to assume an active role in data protection, privacy. Our expectation of your key responsibilities are
- Implement and monitor data protection activities across Wärtsilä Group
- Lead data protection tools development 
- Engage with Application Managers, Privacy Leads and teams to support application data processing compliance and lead the status monitoring including assessments and compliance tasks
- Advise on privacy requirements for new product launches, features or enhancements, 3rd party integrations and use of data
- Coordinate, investigate and respond to internal data protection inquiries and requests
- Create, organise and conduct data protection training in cooperation with key stakeholders and support training activities
- Work alongside product, engineering and business teams to implement privacy-by-design
- Conduct data protection assessments (DPIA, PIA), identify risk areas, support in planning remedial activities and report the status
- Manage, investigate and report incident response activities
- Review and define personal data flows
- Develop data protection metrics, KPIs and conduct reporting
- Develop, update and implement policies, processes, guidelines, procedures and tools supporting data protection

Experience and Qualifications
- Experience as a data protection/privacy professional and GDPR knowledge are required
- Education and certifications in data protection and information security will be considered as an advantage e.g. CIPP/E Certification (Certified Information Privacy Professional, Europe)
- Data Protection, privacy or other IT tools development knowledge and experience
- Education: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or other relevant education. 
- Fluent or good command of English, both written and spoken
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills
- Willingness to learn and to take on new responsibilities as needed
- Skilled in working across diverse teams and cultures to accomplish privacy initiatives
- Commitment to continuous development and improvement 

Location for this position is Wärtsilä offices in Helsinki or Vaasa.
