Phase1 is Orion's a paid trainee program for university and university of applied sciences students. During the summer you get inspiring tasks and get to know other trainees on events. You have also a possibility to network with other orionees through mentoring.

Description of the position

We are looking for a student who is interested of data management and pharmaceutical dosage form development. You will be involved with development of tools that transfer, systematize and calculate information to be used with visualization, data analysis or modeling. You will create tables, databases, macros or scripts to perform these tasks, develop them iteratively on the basis of active discussion with colleagues and verify that they work correctly.

You do not necessarily need Finnish for this task. The work starts in May and continues for 2-3 months. The exact duration will be agreed together the applicant.

Description of the unit

This trainee position is situated in Turku with Drug Product Development unit, which belongs to Pharmaceutical Research & Development department responsible for CMC development and regulatory documentation for new products. The Drug Product Development unit plans and executes CMC activities for new drug products. The multidisciplinary unit consists of analytical and formulation scientists. Together we make sure that the drug products meet the expectations of the patient and high standards of quality.

Requirements

You are motivated to familiarize with new software, tackle new tasks and doing active research to work your way towards a solution. You like to work with data, organize and interpret it with calculation tools and visualization. You are accustomed to working out equations and writing macros or scripts with e.g. Excel, Matlab or Python.

You get along with people and you collaborate openly with people coming from different backgrounds. Communicating and documenting your work in English is natural for you. Familiarity with pharmaceutical dosage form development or analytical chemistry is a benefit. We expect you to have performed at least 2 years worth of applicable university level studies such as pharmacy, chemistry or technology.
