Elisa Content Delivery (for Elisa Viihde and Elisa Kirja) team is looking for enthusiastic Software Developer Trainee for the summer.

Our team is developing content delivery platform, an in-house product, that is part of the backbone of services like Elisa Viihde and Elisa Kirja. Technically speaking it holds everything from content ingestion to cloud recording platform and content delivery network. To build our platform we use modern technologies, open source and best-of-breed software components, while spicing it with machine learning algorithms to ensure best possible experience.

Content Delivery team is part of Elisa’s Software Services and this mean you have an amazing opportunity to join our community of experienced Developers, Designers, Architects and Data experts. Our Software Services is responsible for development of Elisa’s online and emerging services, such as Elisa Viihde, Elisa Kirja and Elisa Automate for operators.

You will be working with backend software development and CDN (content delivery network). The summer trainee position is fixed term, but might continue part-time after summer.

We of course have some requirements for you:

• You’re fluent at least in one of these: Python, Java, JavaScript
• You have some experience in cloud based app development, especially with GCP
• You are interested in streaming services
• You’re very passionate about learning and wanting to become a good software developer
• You are active and independent – If you’re stuck that won’t hold you, you actively seek for solution
• You listen and share – participate in teamwork, you’re a good team player

You will also benefit from:

• You have experience about Machine Learning methods
• You’ve got your hands “dirty” with Lua
• DRM is at least on some level familiar to you
• You understand or have experience in transcoding

Job can be done at least partly remote (in Finland) due to the current global situation. Our Software Services unit is mostly located in Helsinki and Tampere. It’s also possible to work at office in Pasila, Helsinki or Ratina, Tampere.
