Job description

We are looking for hands-on, seasoned backend developer to be among the very first team members of Varjo's cloud business unit. We hope that you bring to the table solid experience in cloud application development, utilising cloud infrastructure and are able to contribute to all technical challenges be it front-end components, backend systems and CI/CD pipeline.

Your job developing cloud applications that enable best in class extended reality and virtual reality experiences to our customers. In your role you will take part into all parts of the application lifecycle: design, develop and deploy. You will be supported by our diverse team of experts from product design to build automation. You write high quality, testable and maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement Varjo backend applications
• Testing and deploying software to our cloud infrastructure, with help from our CI/CD team

Requirements

• Familiarity with public cloud architecture. We focus mainly on AWS, but knowledge on Azure and Google Cloud Platform is complementary
• Expertise in backend technologies such as Node.js or Spring Framework
• Expertise in serverless backend technologies such as AWS Lambda
• Expertise in programming languages such as TypeScript/Javascript, Java, Python and C++
• Ideally, you have knowledge on CI/CD/monitoring tooling such as Jenkins, CloudWatch and New Relic
• Familiarity of agile working methods
• Good English communication skills
• 5+ years of experience in working with modern cloud platforms
