The unit of Computing Sciences (CS) is a multidisciplinary hub for research, teaching and learning across a wide range of topics in information technology.   We are in numbers over 450 staff members, 46 professors and 50 full time teachers, 7 BSc, MSc and PhD study programs, 2000 enrolled students, 300 courses, 200 master graduates, 150 research projects, 550 scientific publications, and a lot of coffee per year. Despite the impressive numbers, the most important fact is our brilliant staff that makes all of this happen. Following the slogan of our university we are the human potential unlimited – the influence on the industry, society and scientific community. We work on three campuses: at Tampere city center and Hervanta as well as at university consortium of Pori.

We will complete a three-year project where we will communicate especially to those choosing where to study. The material to be communicated concerns the events and activities in the Computing unit and in companies in the Tampere region. The goal is to be different form traditional university marketing. We aim to be genuine, wild and crazy - but also informative.

Job Description

The research assistants will:

• Maintain the digital communication channels in web, Facebook, twitter, etc.
• Plan the communication in cooperation with the project management.
• Produce videos (script writing, directing, shooting, and post-production) to be used on the different platforms (incl, youtube, Instagram, and Twitter)
• Produce graphics (photos, art)
• Write texts (for social media postings, web, etc.)
• Support and monitor the work of independent video and social media reporters also working for us. 
• Planning and management of the team’s work.

Our goal is to assemble a team that has all these skills. You as a member of the team do not need to know everything yourself. The work will be done in cooperation with the staff of Tampere University and with the ICT-industry in Tampere region.

Requirements

You may have acquired your skills and qualifications in many ways. Perhaps you have streamed your gaming sessions online or maybe you are a youtube artist. You may be studying journalism, marketing, or science journalism. You may never publish your work but if you are a photographer or a writer, you may be who we are looking for. It is central that you have experience and examples of relevant completed works. You can learn some of the work as you do it, but a good basic skillset is needed from the beginning. 

We will consider it a plus if you are a student at the Tampere university. Especially, you are a student of the computing unit. This is because we hope to produce peer-communication from present students to future students. Personal and continuing experience of the membership of the university community is an advantage in this work.

The team will produce materials in Finnish and in English. However, it is not necessary that all team members communicate fluently in both languages.

We offer

• The tasks are for a fixed term up to 3 years.
• The contract can start flexibly depending on the applicant’s skill profile during winter and spring 2021.
• Salary: Following the university salary system job demand level 1. The range is 1981-2300 euros for full time positions (991-1250 for half time). The weekly hours are negotiable depending on the task distribution in the team. The goal is that you are able to work while completing your studies.
• One of the positions may be filled with a more experienced person with some managerial responsibility. In this case the salary may be higher.
• There is a 6 month trial period

• Motivation letter, where you why you are suitable for this kind of work. Also explain which communication and marketing tasks you could accomplish in our production team. Starting when and for how long you be available (3 years or less) and how many hours per week you can work.

Tietotekniikan yksikkö on Informaatioteknologian ja viestinnän tiedekunnan monitieteinen osaamiskeskittymä, jonka tutkimus- ja opetusalueet kattavat laajasti ICT-aluetta. Meitä tietotekniikan ihmisiä on yli 450, joista 46 professoria ja 50 päätoimista opettajaa. Meillä on yli 2000 opiskelijaa 300 kurssilla seitsemässä kandi-, maisteri- ja jatko-opinto-ohjelmassa. Meiltä valmistuu 200 diplomi-insinööriä ja maisteria vuosittain. Vuosittain työskentelemme n. 150 tutkimusprojektissa ja kirjoitamme yli 550 tieteellistä julkaisua. Samalla juomme paljon kahvia. Työmme vaikutukset näkyvät teollisuudessa, yhteiskunnassa ja tiedemaailmassa. Tämä kaikki tapahtuu kolmella kampuksella: Tampereella keskustassa ja Hervannassa, sekä Porissa. Aloitamme kolmivuotisen hankkeen, jossa pyritään viestimään erityisesti opiskelupaikkaa valitseville siitä mitä yksikössä ja alalla yleensä Tampereen seudulla tapahtuu. Viestinnässä pyritään erottumaan perinteisestä yliopiston markkinointiviestinnästä. Tehdään aitoa, villiä ja hullua - mutta täytät asiaa. 

Tehtävän kuvaus

TampereICT hankkeessa tutkimusapulaisten tehtäviin kuuluu:

• Verkkoviestintäkanavien (web, Facebook, twitter, youtube) ylläpito ja viestintä niissä.
• Viestinnän suunnittelu yhteistyössä hankkeen johdon kansa.
• Videotuotanto (käsikirjoitus, ohjaus, kuvaus, jälkituotantotyöt) käytettäväksi eri alustoilla (Youtube, instagram, Twitter, jne.).
• Kuvamateriaalin tuottaminen (valokuva, grafiikka)
• Tekstin tuottaminen (Some postaukset, web sisältö, jne.).
• Tuki ja seuranta hankkeessa toimiville tubettajille ja some-persoonille.
• Tiimin toiminnan suunnittelu ja seuranta.

Tavoitteena on koota tiimi, jolla on tarvittava osaaminen. Yksittäisen henkilön ei tarvitse hallita kaikkea tätä. Työtä tehdään yhteistyössä Tampereen yliopiston ja Tampereen alueen ICT-alan yritysten kanssa.

Edellytykset

Tehtäviin on voinut pätevöityä monella tavalla. Ehkä olet striimannut pelisessioitasi tai olet pienimuotoinen tubettaja. Saatat ehkä parhaillaan opiskella toimittajaksi, markkinointia, tietotekniikkaa tai tiedeviestintää. Voi olla, että et ole koskaan julkaissut mitään, mutta harrastat valokuvausta ja tiedät olevasti hyvä kirjoittaja. Keskeistä on, että sinulla on kokemusta ja hyviä valmistuneita töitä jollain relevantilla alalla. Osan tehtävistä ehtii oppia työn aikana, mutta kaikkia perustaitoja ei.

Eduksi katsotaan se, jos olet opiskelijana Tampereen yliopistoyhteisössä. Erityiseksi eduksi katsotaan, jos ole tietotekniikan yksikön opiskelija. Näin siksi, että toivomme tuottavamme vertaisviestintää nykyisiltä opiskelijoilta tuleville opiskelijoille. Omakohtainen elävä kokemus yliopistoyhteisön jäsenyydestä on tässä työssä etu.

Viestintä tapahtuu suomeksi ja englanniksi. Kuten muidenkin taitojen kohdalla, ei ole välttämätöntä, että kaikki tiimin jäsenet viestivät sujuvasti molemmilla kielillä.

Tarjoamme

• Tehtävät ovat määräaikaisia ja korkeintaan 3-vuotisia.
• Tehtävässä aloittaminen voidaan sopia tehtävän sisällöstä riippuen alkavaksi joustavasti talven ja kevään 2021 aikana.
• Palkkaus: Yliopiston työehtosopimuksen mukaisesti vaativuustaso 1. Esim. 1891-2300 €/kk täysipäiväisenä tai 991-1250 €/kk (50% työaika). Viikoittainen työtuntimäärä on neuvoteltavissa tehtäväkohtaisesti. Tarkoitus on, että työtä voi tehdä opiskelun ohessa.
• Yksi tehtävistä saatetaan täyttää kokeneemmalla henkilöllä, jolle tulee myös projektihallinnallisia vastuita. Tällöin palkka saattaa olla korkeampi.
• Tehtävässä on 6kk koeaika.

Keskeistä on, että saamme kuvan siitä millaista verkkoviestintää olet aiemmin toteuttanut ja millaisia tuloksia olet saanut aikaan. Jos tuotantosi on laaja, näyte siitä riittää (korkeintaan 4 sivua). 
• Motivaatiokirje, jossa kerrot siitä miksi olisit sopiva tällaisen työn tekijäksi. Kerro lisäksi mitä tämän alun perin kolmihenkiseksi ajatellun tuotantotiimin tehtäviä sinä voisit hoitaa, mistä alkaen ja kuinka pitkään olet käytettävissä (3 vuotta vai lyhyemmän ajan) ja kuinka monta tuntia viikossa voit työskennellä lukukausien aikana.

Osa hakijoista haastatellaan paikan päällä Tampereella tai videoyhteyden kautta. 

Mikäli sopivia hakijoita ei ole tarpeeksi osa tehtävistä voidaan jättää täyttämättä.
