We are looking for a Chief Project Engineer, Mechanical to STH (Sustainable Technology Hub) plant system development team. In this job, you work as a part of Plant Development team. The Plant Development team works as an expert in engine testing infrastructure and systems. Our team works as an enabler for implementing the sustainable future fuels and their needed technologies to our new STH testing facilities. You will influence and participate in a rapidly developing plant environment. We offer a technically diverse and flexible environment, focusing on new plant technologies, sustainable fuels and maintaining the current systems.

This job requires a determined and systematic approach to moving things forward.

The location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland.
  

Your role and responsibilities  

As a Chief Project Engineer, your work will include:

  • Coordination of plant development projects
  • Coordination of plant system engineering and approving system design
  • Plant system optimization together with equipment suppliers and the real estate department
  • Creating purchase requisitions of equipment / sub-contracting for development projects
  • Safeguard that works under own responsibility area are executed according to requirements, specifications, instructions and policies
  • Supporting site team during installation & commissioning phase
  • Manage and maintain good reporting practices and document management
  • Ensure that mechanical as-built drawings are completed and communicated
  • Ensure that plant PI diagram, functional descriptions and work instructions are up to date
  • Project cost and time-schedule follow up

To succeed in this position, you are expected to:

  • Hold B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical / Process Engineering (or similar).
  • Have several years of experience in relevant field or projects
  • Self-propelling active personality with excellent communication and team working skills
  • Be pro-active and have cost awareness and effectiveness skills
  • Finnish and English language skills are required, and Swedish skill is considered as an advantage

You will shine in this role if you have:

  • Previous knowledge of Marine or Energy projects
  • Previous experience working as supervisor is considered as an advantage
  • Project Management skills
  • Procurement skills
  • Negotiation skills & Presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience / knowledge in using SAP, M-files
