Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of

Senior lecturer for fixed-term position of 5 years in the following disciplines:

• Accounting: Financial Accounting
• Corporate Communication: Digital Communication and Media Relations
• Corporate Environmental Management
• Economics: Policy-Relevant Economics
• Management and Leadership: Leadership, Human Resource Management and Responsible Management
• Marketing: Digital Marketing, Sustainability Marketing, Customer Behaviour and Marketing Management

The position starts on 2 August 2021 or as agreed. The applicant will need to specify the discipline he/she is applying for.

The main duties of Senior Lecturer include teaching and research in the field of the discipline in question. Teaching tasks include teaching and guidance related to the field of the discipline at the levels of basic, subject and advanced studies. Senior Lecturer also supervises bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses. The person selected for the position is expected to actively participate in the development of teaching as well as acquire external research funding.

Qualifications we are looking for

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of senior lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The persons selected for these positions are expected to teach in Finnish and/or in English. Excellent English skills are thus required. 

Senior Lecturers are required to have a relevant doctoral degree, evidence of academic research work in the research field, the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and to supervise theses and dissertations. Experience in teaching and research tasks related to the focus areas of the mission of JSBE (We support competitive, digital and sustainable transformation in business and economy) is considered an advantage.

The annual salary range will be approximately 40.000 – 64.000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
