We are looking for a IPR manager for Elisa Corporation's Legal and IPR Department to lead Elisa's domestic and international patent activities. Elisa is one of the most active patent applicants in Finland for the second year in a row. In 2020 Elisa was ranked 6th among the domestic companies with the highest number of patent applications.

As a IPR manager you would work in Elisa's Legal and IPR Department in close co-operation with Elisa's different business units. You would work in a rapidly changing and international environment where you have excellent opportunities to develop your expertise and strengthen Elisa's patent activities and innovation culture.

Your responsibilities will especially include

• Taking a leading role in development and implementation of Elisa's patent strategy
• Having responsibility for Elisa’s patent portfolio
• Fostering innovations and enhancing patentability within Elisa
• Engaging with personnel to identify protectable aspects of their innovations
• Evaluating the patentability of inventions
• Advising and training business units in patent and other protectable rights (e.g. protection of designs)
• Reviewing and analyzing third-party patent filings related to Elisa's businesses
• Creating, updating and implementing internal policies and guidelines
• Developing invention and patent processes as well as use of IPR management solutions
• Managing Elisa's external patent agencies
• Participating in Elisa's Patent Steering Group

What we would like you to have?

• A Master's or equivalent degree e.g. technical or legal
• At least five years of experience within the patent area
• Patent experience in an international environment is particularly appreciated
• Excellent interaction and communication skills, as well as the ability to cooperate and operate at different levels of the organisation
• The ability to work in a solution-oriented and business-oriented manner
• Fluent written and verbal Finnish and English communication skills
