Our Elisa Viihde development team is growing and now we’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer. In this role you will join us on developing our sales, deliveries and backbone processes from the Elisa Viihde perspective.

Who are we? We are Elisa Customer & Online - an agile group in Elisa’s Software Services developing online services for our consumer customers. We are about 100 software professionals in eight teams in roles of developers, designers, testers, architects, coaches, service designers, TPOs and POs. Some of us are Finland based and some of us work internationally. We have a good community and we are gathering quite often (when possible without restrictions) thus building trust among our team. Elisa provides us a solid foundation to continuously develop ourselves to be even more agile. What we do directly affects all Elisa’s current and future customers, even though our clients are Elisa’s internal units.

Our Elisa Viihde service is available on the set-top-box, in smart TV, on web and in mobile, with over 300 000 customers. It provides a couple of hundred different tv channels, live content, applications for Netflix and HBO, and e.g. Elisa’s own wide entertainment library. We are the market leader in our field in Finland and consequently, the daily amount of traffic is significant.

Role description

In this role you are enabling Elisa Viihde service sales and deliveries for example by developing order and updating procedures. We are developing Elisa eCommerce (elisa.fi/kauppa) and consumer self-service OmaElisa (omaelisa.fi) from the Elisa Viihde perspective. Our team is also responsible for the background tools used by our specialists.

Main tasks beside the actual coding will be defining new features and splitting the requirements to user stories, further developing, improving and maintaining codebase, performing code reviews, helping in test automation and some other DevOps tasks. We expect you to be Full Stack focusing more on Backend development. Our main tech is Java and we expect you to have several years of experience in it.

Our team uses agile methodologies and we are proud of the quality of our code. You will enjoy your role if you thrive in a team environment, since we like working closely together. We expect that you have experience in guiding and mentoring others and doing code reviews. You are fully aware that testing and documentation are vital parts of software development and you do them accordingly. You’re eager to explore our codebase and to weigh our working methods and you know how to push things to be solved. You are fluent in English and you might benefit from Finnish skills as most of Elisa Viihde users are Finnish speaking.

We utilize a wide variety of DevOps tools and methods and we are always going more and more towards Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. You will benefit significantly from all the experience and interest in DevOps and CI/CD.

Here are most of the techs we’re using: Java, Scala, JavaScript, React, React Native, Node.js, Kubernetes, Docker, Robot Framework, Mocha, MySql, MariaDB.All the experience from these techs will benefit you but we are always looking for new techs and ways to do stuff.
